Castle Property

The Castle property is located in northern BC, on the Kinaskan Plateau, 12 km west of the Red Chris porphyry Cu-Au deposit..

The property was discovered by Sumitomo Metal and Mining of Canada in 1970. Sumitomo carried out soil sampling in 1971, followed by 549 metres of diamond drilling in 5 holes in 1973.

Teck Explorations acquired the property by staking in 1980 and subsequently carried out rock and soil sampling, hand trenching, chip sampling, and a geophysical surveys (magnetometer, self-potential and VLF-EM) during the period 1981-86.

In 1987-88 in association with Kappa Resource Corporation, Teck carried out an IP (10.5 km), magnetometer and self potential (14.5 km) surveys, and an 11-hole diamond drilling program (1,190.2 metres). Additional sampling was carried out by Triumph Resources in 1990, and again by Teck in 1997.
